How We Vet the Concrete Pros We Send Your Request To
Three checks, before a pro receives a single request from Austin Trusted Concrete: we confirm the pro holds the registration or license the city and state require for the work, we check that its paperwork, such as liability insurance, is in place, and we interview the pro to decide whether we want to recommend them. Austin Trusted Concrete is a referral service, and every pro is an independent local business.

Which registration or license do we check?
The one the job legally needs. Texas doesn't license general contractors, so in Austin the check is the city's contractor registration with Building and Trade Contractor Services, which general contractors complete before construction on a building permit starts. For driveway approaches, sidewalks, curbs and gutters in the right-of-way, the city requires a Right-of-Way Contractor License, backed by insurance and a $10K bond, and publishes the list of active license holders. A pro that pours at the street has to be on that list.
What about Georgetown, Pflugerville, Leander and Kyle?
Each suburb keeps its own rules, and we check the ones that apply where the pro works. Georgetown registers general contractors, Leander requires every contractor and subcontractor to be registered before a permit is issued, and Kyle requires contractors who pull permits to be registered and to carry proof of liability insurance. Each town page also explains what that city asks of the job itself.
Which paperwork has to be in place?
Liability insurance first. It also matters for street work in Austin: the Right-of-Way Contractor License stays valid only until the bond or insurance on file expires. We check that the paperwork is current before a pro receives requests.
Why do we interview every pro?
Because a registration shows a company may do the work, not whether we want to recommend it. Before a pro joins, we talk with them directly and decide whether we're comfortable sending Austin homeowners their way. If we aren't, they don't receive requests.
What does this mean for you?
